Jenna loves Bulmaro’s technique because he “lifts my eyes…” while others put her to sleep. STEVEN MORA helped Lori choose her outfit so he went with opposite but complimentary colors for her eyes. “I started with a cream shadow in an iridescent lime green by Nors, all over her eye lid and to her under eye area. I then applied a more mossy green by Palette Maquillage to the lower lid at the lash line. For highlighting the brow bone, I used a shimmery soft pink, also by Palette Maquillage. Her foundation was applied using an Airbrush machine, using a silicone base, in her customized shade. Cheeks were also airbrushed, using a pinky blush color. For lips, I used a fuchsia liner which I accentuated with our new vitamin infused lip gloss in Hibiscus.” Stylist, STEPHANIE HOUDIN, topped off the look by giving Lori sexy, wavy, ‘Victoria’s Secret’ hair!

The Salon by Maxime makes an E! appearance all week as Maxime helped Sarah Mitchell, from E!'s hit show, 'The Dance Scene", get red carpet ready for the BURLESQUE premiere!! Check out E! online for airtimes the week of May 9th, 2011! Sarah Mitchell came into the salon and met with owner, Maxime Salvador to discuss a look for the premiere of BURLESQUE, in which she starred and got to show off more of her dancing talents! Maxime and Sarah decided to go with a fun spirited pompadour that showcased Sarah’s fresh face and captured the spirit of the event, and her slightly edgy personality and style. “Meeting Sarah for the first time, I knew we were off to a great, new friendship. I thought with her incredible dance performance in the movie BURLESQUE we should go for the clean look of the pompadour, paired with smoky eyes to help complete this sultry and sophisticated take on the classic rock and roll style.” said Maxime.

Product always makes a great gift for Valentine's Day!

It was a big day at Kate Somerville as our crew styled models for sisters Stephanie and Danielle Shadrow’s new clothing line! The storyline was girls getting ready for a date: girls hanging out; girly intimate tea party; brunching; shopping and getting their girl ready for her date with her hot guy. The looks were fun and pretty with hair changing for every setting. There was hair for champagne toast and cocktails to updos and braided ponytails for brunch. Loose tendrils and chic chignons ruled the tea party. Overall the looks were young, fresh and very soft. Complimenting the hair was make-up, which was simple and soft in the beginning. As the day progressed more depth was added to their makeup. Soft lavender shades were airbrushed over the eyes, keeping the lips shear and pinkish. The final date look had smoky eyes using a black pencil with purple/grape shadows, again keeping the lips soft and shear. LA Confidential's coverage of the Gen Art Fashion Alumni Celebration at Roosevelt included two of the sixteen looks The Salon by Maxime styled for the show! The show was a challenge with sixteen different designers and sixteen different looks ranging from long and loose to to the avante garde but our team pulled it all off and had a blast while doing so! The show was centered around the pool at the world famous Roosevelt hotel. Guests mingled and had the opportunity to reach out and speak with designers and ask about their upcoming seasons.

Kara Taitz stops by The Salon by Maxime to get ready for her red carpet debut at the MTV Movie Awards. Kara will star in the new MTV comedy, 'The Hard Times of RJ Berger'. Kara wanted a soft and fun look to accompany her dress. Stylist, Adriana Rodriguez gave her a side swept look with soft curls to compliment her grecian inspired one shoulder look. Adriana wanted to give Kara a classic look that was still fun. Make-up Artist, Steven Mora offered Kara a fresh look that really popped against the colors of the dress using blue, gray and silver tones from Mineral Collection "Cool Waters". Kara's lips were kissable in a sheer berry color, "Naked Grape". To top off her flawless glow Steven used a customized tone foundation and blush. The new caviar treatment from Kerastase, Chronologiste is here! This treatment is like ‘La Mer’ for the hair. It literally turns back the hands of time on your hair and repairs the damages inflicted by color, blowdrying and styling. A favorite amongst celebs and models who sustain constant styling. I’ve experienced the treatment and the hair looks like ‘kid’ hair, like it’s never been color treated or teased, just shiny and full of body. Cat Deeley recently stopped by the salon to check it out. STEPHANIE coiffed Lori with a French twist, “It was mostly done with my hands so, it doesn’t look too perfect.”

STEVEN’S approach was to compliment the hairstyle and the person. “I knew I wanted more than neutral colors, so I used fuschia shadows to create a subtle smoky, but still classic eye to accentuate her personality, and sense of style.” Steven also used airbrushing, which brings out the natural beauty of her skin and topped off the look with a sheer gloss.
